I couldn't find any direct references that portray tribes having extreme healthy skin but just looking at some of the image I have previously found, I think its safe to say their skin is gooood.

Face Creams and Perfect Skin.
Again in a magazine advert for skin care, I found tribal references with the product swept across the models face. I was wondering if they use this references for any other reason other than to show the product texture and consistency on the face of the model, or are tribal people known for their perfectly natural skin.

It seems that your approach here is leaning towards a classic beauty editorial. Very interesting.....

This does mean however that your technical expertise will have to focus on the hair. But this is a good thing. It will bring great variety to your portfolio.
After looking at your blog so far, I think you should find more images to use as references to your design. I would like a lot more to indicate your interest in hair as well as beautiful skin.
