Vogue Italia.

I found an article on Vogue.it that summarises fashion and tribal influences. The article is named Fashion Tribes and talks about designers such as John Paul Gautier and Alexandra McQueen. They cover many different points of inspiration and cultural references from many different tribes. This is a fact I thought would help and influence my decision on my development and final images:

'The semi-nomadic tribe from West Africa highlights the most beautiful areas of the face, so nose, lips and mouth stand out in yellow, red and black colours, made out of vegetable pigments. Women braid their hair framing their faces with geometric ornaments and feathers.'

And here are some images from the article:

They are all so different but it is clear in all of the fashion image the translation and influence from the original tribal images. The colours, makeup and styling are all amazing and this inspiration is converted so well.
